Comida Yucateca (Yucatán cuisine) is coming into its own as chefs such as Rick Bayless and Diana Kennedy call attention to its uniqueness. Mérida offers many wonderful dining opportunities to experience the taste of the region, as well as international fare. It is always recommended to call first for reservations and to verify the day¹s schedule. Many restaurants serve meals in typical Yucatecan fashion, meaning they are open only between noon or 1:00 and 5:00 pm.
